Move It or Lose It

Canavan Byrne are delighted to welcome Hayley on board to deliver this dynamic webinar which will look at Strategy No. 5 from Dr Daniel Siegel’s book “The Whole Brain Child” and translate this research into practical and effective methods of using movement to help children regulate and move through their big emotions in a safe and supportive manner.

Hayley will explore the “hand model” of the child’s brain, which is a practical way for children, and adults alike, to understand what happens to them on the inside when a big feeling (such as anger) surfaces.  This will include an outline of the Zones of Regulation.

The purpose of teaching these alternative methods of response to children’s big emotions is to support children to regulate healthily, to offer alternative methods of response to adults, and to promote self-awareness and emotion-recognition in children in an age-appropriate way.
