- The advice now for businesses is to allow employees to work from home where possible to do so. This officially comes into effect from midnight this evening, Thursday 18 November. Employers should consider a full review of their Workplace Safety Protocol should any employees have to attend the workplace in person.
- The other change is regarding “household close contacts” – employers can now expect employees who are household close contacts, even when fully vaccinated and showing no symptoms, to restrict their movements for 5 days until they have 3 negative antigen test results within those 5 days.
Our personal choices and behaviours can help reduce the rate of transmission. All of us should:
- Act fast, isolate and get tested if we have symptoms
- Wear our face coverings where appropriate
- Make sure that indoor spaces are well ventilated
- Maintain adequate social distancing whenever appropriate
- Cover our coughs and sneezes and keep our hands clean
We can continue to do our part to protect ourselves and others by:
- Prioritising activities and considering what is absolutely necessary
- Limiting our activities in riskier environments (indoor, crowded environments, where distancing is difficult)
- Taking regular antigen tests if we are asymptomatic and engaged in activities in riskier environments
- Holding off on visiting vulnerable people after undertaking any activities in riskier activities
Here is the HSE guide video on how to take an antigen test.
