Supporting My Child with ASD at Home
Children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) experience the world differently and different environments can be very overwhelming. This course examines factors that can be taken into consideration in the home setting to help support your child, as well as some things to take into account when going on outings into different environments. By gaining an understanding of your child’s sensory struggles and factors that can affect them, you have the tools to help support them at home.

- What is regulation and what impact it may have when your child is unregulated
- Practical ideas to help with regulation
- Factors to consider in the home environment to help support your child

Ciara Watson started work in mainstream preschools before going to study for a B.A in Psychology leading on to work as a specialized teacher and then progressing to work as program coordinator and staff trainer in a specialized preschool for autistic children. She is also the founder of Autism Supports, helping families and professionals implement supports for autistic children in their setting. She is also the mother of an autistic teenager which gives her the understanding of the difficulties which parents face at home.
