Manual Handling
This certified Manual Handling course is given in accordance with the guidelines of the Safety Health and Welfare Act, Manual Handling of loads regulations (General Applications) 2007 which covers the anatomy, the spinal column, related spinal injuries, risk assessment, correct manual handling techniques and the importance of good posture and fitness levels.
This course is designed for early years workers. The manual handling videos are set in a preschool and the course regularly references manual handling techniques conducted in an early years setting.

Assessment
Course Theory Assessment:
The course theory assessment is the final module of the course and contains 20 questions. A pass rate of 60% is required. You can repeat the assessment if you don't succeed the first time round.

Important: On successful completion of the course theory assessment, you will be emailed a link to download a provisional certificate. You must download and print your provisional certificate and have it with you when you do the course practical assessment (see below). You are not certified for Manual Handling until you complete and pass the course practical assessment.
Course Practical Assessment:
On successful completion of the theory section of the course, you will receive an email that provides a link to your provisional certificate. You must download and print your provisional certificate. This certificate is valid for 3 months, during which time, you must complete the lift assessment via Zoom.
The Manual Handling Lift Assessment takes place every Monday and Tuesday from 8.00 PM on Zoom. You are required to have a 3KG object present for your assessment.
