Conducting Board Evaluations
Board Evaluation is a new process for many EY services, being a core requirement of the Charities Governance code for EY services that fall under the definition of Complex Charities. Asa result of the Code, it has become a widespread activity of effective boards, and many will conduct the process for the first time in 2022. Board Evaluation are highly beneficial for Boards in a state of transition or require changes in Board members and their Governing document (memo and arts). This session will cover a five-stage process that can be completed internally by the service or with the help of an external consultant. A model for best practice board effectiveness will be introduced that can be used to compare current versus ideal behaviour and scenarios.
