Ten top tips for Staff returning from Sick Leave/Absence

  1. Arrange to meet them during the morning they first come back from sick leave
  2. Welcome them back - make them feel valued
  3. Create an atmosphere of trust and support
  4. Assess the cause of their sick leave and check that they are feeling better and fit for return
  5. Address any problems that possibly contributed to their absence
  6. Update them on any relevant matters arising during their absence
  7. If anyone has been covering for them, ensure there is an opportunity for them to link up
  8. If required, agree any immediate priorities with them following their leave
  9. Check if they have any questions
  10. Confirm that it is good to see them back and move on
