This introductory course aims to provide Early Years practitioners with both the knowledge and the skills to successfully include and support children with special educational needs in their service.

Note: The necessity of inclusion of children with special needs within Early Years services is supported by the cross-government initiative through the Access and Inclusion Model (AIM) which was introduced in September 2016 and is part of the Better Start Initiative. The aim of this model is to ensure that children with disabilities can access and participate in the ECCE programme (free preschool years).
